Bendi CRO judges Australian sustainable fashion prize

Bendi co-founder and Chief Research Officer Benjamin Norsworthy was invited to be an international judge on the We The Makers 2023 Sustainable Fashion Prize at the National Wool Museum of Australia in Geelong, near Melbourne.

The competition received over 100 entries from young designers around the world and is the only sustainable fashion prize offered in Australia for emerging designers with less than ten years of industry experience.

Assessing a shortlist of 20 entries as part of the judging panel, entrants were assessed on criteria including design ingenuity, material consciousness and circular processes. The 2023 We The Makers Sustainable Fashion Prize was awarded to Canwen Zhao for her piece “35 Life. The winning entry received $10,000 AUD and Benjamin was invited to deliver a video message to the opening of the exhibition alongside other members of the judging panel.

The prize was the opening of the We The Makers exhibition which is on at the National Wool Museum of Australia until 29 October 2023 and is aligned with Geelong’s designation as a UNESCO City of Design.
