We were recently given the opportunity to present how we are applying AI to supply chain sustainability with members of the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing.
Bendi spoke about how generative AI and intelligent automation is reshaping sustainability data workflows across global supply chains. Alongside a brief history of the company, talking through iterations of the business to solve sustainability’s data problems with AI, we gave members an overview of our newest product VendorPilot.
We spoke with members of the Sustainability Association of IfM Engage, the knowledge-transfer arm of the institute which helps organisations ranging from multinational organisations to government bodies drive innovation in manufacturing.
The presentation addressed one of the biggest pain points businesses face in 2025: supply chain data exchange. Today, compliance still relies on hundreds of non-aligned, manual questionnaires, draining time and frustrating team members.
Bendi’s AI changes that. Our system automates question extraction and response generation with accuracy, auditability and transparency to help organisations complete complex sustainability and compliance requests quickly. What used to take days can now be completed and reviewed in minutes.
By combining robust data science, context-aware AI agents and a user-focused experience, we enable companies to scale their sustainability commitments with speed and precision so teams can focus on impact rather than reporting and data collection.
There was a lot of interest in the more technical elements of our work - including the role of prompts, global language coverage, how we minimise LLM hallucinations and how VendorPilot is different to and better than off-the-shelf gen AI like ChatGPT.
As people become increasingly familiar with generative AI and it is embedded in business work flows more and more, we see a huge opportunity to show how carefully engineered AI, built with usability and business context in mind, can solve real supply chain challenges at scale.
